IN the well-loved Chinese epic Journey To The West, Buddhist monk Xuanzang travels to the West in search of sacred texts and encounters a series of adventures with his disciples Monkey, Pigsy and Sandy.

In Wild Rice's localised version titled Monkey Goes West, orphan Ah Tang travels from Haw Par Villa to Jurong West in search of his home, truly, and has some "uniquely Singapore" adventures.
