LET'S be blunt, it's not a sex comedy until one sees the money shot, so Sex Tape definitely fails to stand and deliver on that count.

Despite its R21 rating, the film, which reunites Bad Teacher director Jake Kasdan with both Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel, has a prudish script and jokes that go flaccid before the punchline is delivered.

Sex Tape plays it so safe that at one point it features an extended scene where Segel is trying to outrun and outsmart a guard dog that is chasing him around a big mansion. That's more Home Alone than Hangover so you can't blame the audience for thinking they're watching the wrong movie. And despite its title, Sex Tape doesn't really go past first base.
