Singapore designers break new ground in Milan

INSPIRING and energising – that’s how the Milan Design Week is described. Events go far beyond trade visitors checking out the latest from furniture brands to innovative – and sometimes otherworldly – installations scattered throughout the city’s streets and historical buildings.

After making its mark last year with an inaugural exhibition at Milan Design Week, DesignSingapore Council will again showcase the Republic’s design chops with newly commissioned works from seven designers. Titled Future Impact 2, the exhibition next month will feature technology-led, sustainable designs that reflect a forward-thinking vision and approach to design.

In Friday’s (Mar 29) edition of BT Lifestyle, we speak to some of the designers to find out what went into their concepts.

On to something even more otherworldly, we sit down to watch Netflix’s 3 Body Problem – a TV adaptation of the epic sci-fi book series by Liu Cixin – to let you know what we make of it.

Meanwhile, discover the latest from luxury brands Vacheron Constantin and Van Cleef & Arpels. And in Dining, we check out the plant-based omakase of Ki Su, and sample the likes of vegetarian sushi and more.

Read them all in this Friday’s issue of BT.
