Song of the Maligned MRT commuter
LIFE's hard when you take public transport. All you want to do is get from point A to point B with as little hassle as possible, but when you're expected to be good Samaritan, first aid officer, martial arts expert and live porno audience all at the same time, it just makes you want to give up and call a cab.
I mean, the things you have to deal with: queasy foreign lady complaining about your compassion deficit; naked guy twiddling his third thumb in front of you; big guy beating up a littler guy in the bus; every second headline about apathetic commuters directed at you . . . it just makes you want to throw your hands up and burst out in - uh, song?
Taking a cue from our fellow persecuted Jean Valjean from Les Miserables, we take the liberty of mangling his wrenching solo Who Am I? to suit our own commuter lament.
