El Primero A386 Revival - Iconic Trio
The El Primero has been regarded as the best and most accurate chronograph movement - capable of tenth-of-a-second measurement - for the past 50 years. No less than Rolex's iconic Cosmograph Daytona was powered by this legendary automatic movement. This was from 1988 to 2000, before Rolex introduced its own movement. The latest El Primero's anniversary edition comes in a white, rose and yellow gold case which is, like the 1969 El Primero, 38 mm wide. Apart from the unisex-sized case, the new El Primero also has the initial characteristics of the original model: domed crystal, three-coloured counters, a tachymeter scale and the shape of the hand and hour-markers. The only exceptions are the transparent caseback - originally closed - which lays bare the movement as well as the updated logo adorning the crown. Each version of the new El Primero is part of a 50-piece limited edition with a whopping 50-year guarantee.
