Resort Edit
'Tis the season to stock up on your wardrobe staples. Whether or not you're planning a holiday, here are the top eight Resort 2018 essentials to buy.
It was once a season tailored for the wealthy on their sunny holidays, but it's now one of the most important events in the fashion calendar. Without fail, the likes of Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Gucci throw the most extravagant runway shows during this season. Not only does Resort offer the most wearable pieces compared to the main collections - spring/summer and fall/winter - they also remain in stores for a longer period - up to six months for most brands. Thanks to the longer shelf life, many brands have now included the year's statement pieces in their resort collections - the Gucci logo T-shirt is a great example of a resort piece that became a house classic, appearing in different styles season after season.
01. The Belt's Back
It was once the accessory du jour for many seasons but Miuccia Prada's predominant use of the belt in her recent resort show cemented its return to the runways. While Prada leaned towards buckled belts, we think Diane von Furstenberg's take on the pearl chain belt has longer staying power, for the simple reason that it does double duty as a necklace.
