Synthetic beauty
Fast fashion label H&M finds beauty in waste with its 2018 Conscious Exclusive collection, which uses sustainable fabric made from recycled material to create a range of womenswear, lingerie, shoes and accessories. Recycled silver and ECONYL®, a 100 per cent regenerated nylon fibre from fishnets and other nylon waste are the main materials used to create designs inspired by the home of famed Swedish artists Karin and Carl Larsson. Karin's love for gardening and her tapestries were key inspirations for H&M's designers, who translated them into floral jacquards, abstract embroideries and tapestries.
Statement pieces include a white ECONYL® sleeveless full-length dress with organic cotton embroidery and a green floral metallic jacquard dress made from recycled polyester. Tulip motif jewellery is made from recycled silver, and shoes from recycled polyester. Now's your chance to look good and be kind to the environment.
Launching on April 19, the Conscious Exclusive 2018 collection is available in H&M Orchard Building and online at hm.com.
