Natural luxury might seem like a misnomer but the people behind Bawah Private Island disagree. Set to open in the summer of 2017, the collection of five pristine islands located just two hours from Singapore features 35 eco-designed villas. Each will feature a bedroom, bathroom and living area with views across the lagoon. All the villas and public areas are made of sustainable materials like bamboo and recycled teak and bath and shower areas constructed using recycled copper. Other features at the private island will include a treetop 'Club House,' a yoga pavilion, beach-fronted infinity pool and a spa with exclusive products. With a view to keeping the 300-acre space as untouched as possible, no heavy machinery is allowed so every mechanical process - from recycling stones to breaking boulders - has to be done by hand.
