Unleash your green fingers
DO you have green fingers? Or enjoy making small talk with your potted plants? Then you just might be interested in stopping by the Singapore Garden Festival (SGF) when it comes to town later this year, to see how the best get down and dirty.
This fifth edition of the biennial tropical garden and flower show will feature over 30 award-winning designers from all over the world, showcasing their garden designs to compete for top prize medals and the title of Best In Show.
And for the first time, the SGF will span across 22,000 square metres of the Gardens by the Bay (GB), incorporating at least 1,000 varieties of plants in both an indoor and outdoor arena. Says Dr Tan Wee Kiat, chief executive officer of GB: "The SGF is a place to showcase the wonderful biodiversity of plant life in the tropics. And I'm very happy that finally we are bringing the SGF to a garden setting. This has always been the intended home of the SGF."
