Visceral lens' eye view
IT took Tan Ngiap Heng eight years to obtain his PhD in engineering, but the 48-year-old has not worked as an engineer for even one day in his life.
Instead, after graduating, Mr Tan took a break and spent a year at a contemporary dance school in London, purely out of interest.
"It was really tough on the body for someone who was 30 years old at the time. And I was kind of heartbroken when I realised I couldn't be a dancer full-time, because I didn't have a bright future as one," says Mr Tan.
