HOW much waste does Singapore dispose of in a day? According to the National Environment Agency, it’s close to 9,000 tonnes - a 7-fold increase since 1970, due to economic and population growth.

With continued growth and affluence, that means a real challenge to find land for waste disposal in land-scarce Singapore.

Waste is a global problem, and it has since spawned a “repair economy”, as more eco-conscious consumers make the effort to follow the 3Rs  - reduce, reuse and recycle.
