THE Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is returning to Singapore this month with two featherweight legends – #2-ranked former title contender Max “Blessed” Holloway and #7-ranked “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung – facing off in the main card.

UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs The Korean Zombie is set to take place on Aug 26 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Former champion and top-ranked contender Holloway holds the divisional records for the most wins (19) and most finishes (10); and the UFC record for total strikes landed (3.366). His opponent, Jung, is fan favourite known as a creative grappler with heavy hands.

The co-main event is a light heavyweight bout where #8-ranked contender and holder of 20 first-round finishes, Anthony “Lionheart” Smith, rematches #10-ranked Ryan “Superman” Spann, holder of 15 first-round finishes.

This is the fifth UFC event that the Lion City is hosting. The last one, UFC 275: Teixeira vs Prochazka, made history in 2022 as the first UFC pay per view event held in South-east Asia and also set the record for the highest gate takings for a Singapore Indoor Stadium event.

Following UFC Fight Night: Hollyway vs The Korean Zombie, the semifinals for Road to UFC Season 2 – the only tournament where the best MMA prospects from across Asia compete for UFC contracts – will take place the next day on Aug 27.
