WHILE studying the Sijori region (comprising Singapore, Johor, and the Riau Islands) may seem like a simple task, this 18-chapter and 481-page tome is a feat for ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute. It is the first book in a series named "Floating Frontiers" which aims to look at interactions between South-east Asian nations across maritime boundaries.
