Asian Americans' votes could make a difference
Clinton is expected to win their vote, while Trump's bigotry isn't going to help advance his presidential campaign
Washington
A MAJOR focus of the media during this presidential election has been on whether Donald Trump is a misogynist and racist, or perhaps he just exudes old-fashioned bigotry, like the crazy uncle who tells everyone over Thanksgiving dinner how "those minorities" were destroying America. The Donald may be the wealthy twin brother of Archie Bunker, the lead character from the 1970s American television sitcom All in the Family, a reactionary conservative whose views on race, sex, marriage and religion amounted to a parody of right-wing bigotry.
Notwithstanding the insulting comments Mr Trump has made about women and minorities, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate has denied the bigotry allegations. His allies note that the Donald has helped women advance to top positions in his companies, and plans to hand to his successful daughter, Ivanka, the control of his businesses after becoming president.
