Digital must lead higher education in Singapore
THE higher-education environment is not like what it used to be. Neither are the students. While parents see a university degree as an assurance of success, students are not so confident about the value of one today.
According to the Accenture 2014 Global Value of Higher Education Survey, rising costs and demand for digital capabilities will have the greatest impact on how universities in Singapore attract, engage and sustain relationships with students. More than in any other country surveyed, 56 per cent of Singaporean respondents say they considered alternatives to attending university or pursuing higher education due to the costs involved.
