Insurance is about forming long-term relationship
I REFER to "Going digital inevitable for local insurers in long run" (BT, April 4).
The Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore agrees that digital offerings add to consumer choice, but would like to caution against an over-enthusiastic view of the implementation process.
Rather than describe insurers as "dragging their feet" in moving products online, some consideration must be given to the difficulty of setting up an appropriate infrastructure that is user-friendly, easy to maintain and ensure that the benefits to both consumer and insurer outweigh the cost.
