Lessons for S'pore in push to be top AI hub

THE McKinsey Global Institute's report Artificial Intelligence The Next Digital Frontier named Silicon Valley, New York, Beijing, Boston, London and Shenzhen as the most vibrant artificial intelligence (AI) hubs. It concluded that the United States and China dominate the AI landscape, with Europe falling behind.
As someone who is proud of Singapore's ascent to one of the top startup hubs in the world (just look at recent rankings by Deloitte and others), I was a bit disappointed not to see the city recognised alongside Silicon Valley as a top AI hub, too.
There are a few notable developments and initiatives going on in AI in Singapore that are worth mentioning as an overview of sorts. It's important because Singapore's economic growth rate could nearly double by 2035 with AI, according to Accenture.
