Nuclear war games would hardly be fun for East Asia
Tokyo
THINGS are becoming rather "too close for comfort" nowadays if you live in Tokyo. We escaped - by a much narrower margin than most realised at the time - being fatally irradiated by the Fukushima nuclear meltdown in 2011, and now it seems we could be "vaporised" by North Korean missiles.
The danger of some kind of nuclear confrontation in East Asia seems to be moving by accelerating steps from the unimaginable to the distinctly possible, and that is as much due to the current incumbent of the White House in the United States and his team as to a supposedly "mad dictator" in North Korea.
