SGX draws from all international markets including China for listings
WE refer to "Good that S'pore Exchange has accepted its lot in life" (BT, July 7).
The story captured SGX's strategy to play to its sector strengths, including Reits and business trusts, consumer, healthcare and digital sectors; as well as to attract listings from Asean and across the Asia-Pacific.
However, we would like to clarify that China is clearly still a key market for SGX. Focusing on our sector strengths and in the region closer to home does not imply that we lose sight of the largest economy in Asia. We continue to have a team based in China, headed by Lawrence Wong, that pursues opportunities across SGX's equities and fixed income as well as derivatives businesses.
