A NEW Cultural Cold War is threatening the global supremacy of American culture that attracted people worldwide in the 20th century. The marketing of American art, music, film and literature was driven by a remarkable concept of US foreign policy - the Marilyn Monroe Doctrine.
But now, US cultural dominance is being challenged by Russia. Not only is Russia spending more on international propaganda than Washington, but it has also shut down the American Center in Moscow.
The Cultural Cold War between the US and Russia started in 2014, following Russian annexation of Crimea and intervention in Ukraine.
