THE Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) has launched three land parcels for food fish farming at Lim Chu Kang for sale by public tender on Tuesday.

Each land parcel along Neo Tiew Crescent has a lease tenure of 20 years. The sites will be awarded under a fixed price tender system, with key criteria being production capacity and production track record.

Two of the plots each span around 15,575 square metres with a fixed sale price of S$378,000 each, while the third parcel has a land area of 23961.2 sq m and will cost S$587,000. The tender for these land parcels will close at 12 noon on Jan 9, 2018.

This latest launch follows the AVA's release of 12 land parcels for vegetable farming in August.

The AVA had announced earlier this year that it will tender out 36 new plots of farmland on 20-year leases, spanning 60 hectares in total in Lim Chu Kang and Sungei Tengah. The leases of 62 farms in Lim Chu Kang will run out by end-2021 and the land will be given over to military use.

The larger plots will be leased out for 20 years, with businesses required to pay an upfront amount of 10 years' worth of land lease fees.

The smaller plots will have a nine-year tenure period, with monthly payments and renewal every three years so that operators can avoid paying large sums upfront.
