German building boom set to continue as home demand soars

Property analysts say that at least 350,000 new homes are needed every year until 2020 to cope with Germany's shortage of affordable housing.

NEW residential building permits issued in Germany increased by more than 20 per cent on the year in 2016, Housing Minister Barbara Hendricks said on Sunday, suggesting that a building boom will continue to support economic growth this year.
