FOR any business, boosting sales is critical. As consumers become more tech-savvy, not only are they shopping online, but they are increasingly comfortable using different platforms, apps and mobile devices.

Because of this, businesses across Asia are setting up e-commerce platforms and investing significant marketing dollars in attracting customers to these sites. SMEs are well-positioned to leverage e-commerce to level the playing field, as technology enables smaller businesses to market, sell and distribute their products on a global scale.

Despite the positive e-commerce statistics, evidence suggests the rate of shopping cart abandonment on online platforms is as high as 50-75 per cent.
