Poh Group's research enables it to farm seawater fish with man-made seawater even in such far-flung places as a desert.
POH Kay Ping, chairman of Poh Group, says he intends to farm seawater fish in China. The catch is, he intends to make his set-up applicable to any environment - even the desert.
"Food resource is getting scarce because of the growing population and over-fishing. But the technology in farming hasn't caught up. We cannot farm all species of seafood, for example parrot fish and coral fish. But, we can farm garoupa, cod, salmon, lobster, and abalone. The technology needs to catch up so that more food can be farmed in a safe way."
