SMEs urged to focus on human aspects of innovation
Technology not the only solution in innovating, says consultant
SMEs in Singapore may be better off focusing their innovation efforts on the human aspects rather than the technological-led approaches that they currently take.
Although innovation is a buzzword among the corporate community in Singapore now, there is a tendency to attach it with technological innovation, exacerbated by grants from government agencies that incentivise technology-led value creation, said Angela Koch, founder and chief ideas facilitator of Invitro Innovation.
"As a result, the tendency is for companies here to view technology as the only solution in innovating," Ms Koch, who runs the Asian-based ideas and innovation consultancy, told BT.
