China: Shares lower in morning trade

    [SHANGHAI] Chinese shares were down in morning trade on Wednesday, following overnight losses in US stocks.

    The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.05 per cent, or 35.37 points, to 3,317.59.

    The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.51 per cent, or 7.83 points, to 1,542.10.
