China: Shares up slightly in morning trade
[SHANGHAI] Chinese stocks were slightly higher in morning trade on Wednesday, as investors awaited policy signals from the annual meeting of the country's legislature, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.23 per cent, or 7.35 points, to 3,270.40.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, climbed 0.22 per cent, or 3.56 points, to 1,648.55.
The National People's Congress, which starts Thursday, will unveil the country's economic growth target for 2015.
