China: Stocks flat after Monday's rally
[HONG KONG] Chinese stocks were flat in early trading on Tuesday, after rallying more than two per cent the previous day on the announcement of a new securities regulatory chief, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged down 0.05 per cent, or 1.47 points, to 2,925.71.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.11 per cent, or 2.14 points, to 1,890.32.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index rose 0.07 per cent, or 14.37 points, to 19,478.46 in opening deals.
