China: Stocks flat despite stimulus measures, Hong Kong soars
[HONG KONG] Shanghai shares opened flat on Wednesday morning after jumping 1.68 per cent the previous day on economic stimulus measures, dealers said, while Hong Kong was sharply higher.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.60 points to 2,733.77.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, eased 0.24 per cent, or 4.03 points, to 1,677.44.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index, meanwhile, rose 2.16 per cent, or 418.96 points, to 19,826.42 in opening deals.
