China: Stocks lower in morning trade

[SHANGHAI] Chinese shares were lower on Thursday morning, despite better-than-expected second quarter economic growth announced a day earlier, dealers said.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 1.24 per cent, or 47.20 points, to 3,758.50.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 1.85 per cent, or 38.12 points, to 2,020.72.
