Europe: London stocks hit record high on rallying oil price
[LONDON] The London stock market soared Monday to a record high as the energy sector was boosted by jumping oil prices, while eurozone equities also forged higher.
In early morning trade, the British capital's benchmark FTSE 100 index surged to an all-time peak at 7,458.62 points. It later stood at 7,455.21, up 0.3 per cent from Friday's closing level.
In initial eurozone deals, Frankfurt's DAX 30 added 0.4 per cent to 12,824.05 and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.1 per cent to stand at 5,411.27.
