Europe: Stock markets advance at open

[LONDON] European stock markets gained ground in opening trade on Tuesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index up 0.5 per cent at 7,368.96 points.
In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 won 0.4 per cent to 5,141.02 points compared with the closing level on Monday.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 was also 0.4 per cent higher at 12,208.30.
