Europe: Stock markets climb at open
[LONDON]Europe's main stock markets climbed at the start of trading on Wednesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index up 0.1 per cent to 7,521.55 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index rose 0.2 per cent to 13,404.58 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.1 per cent to 5,487.53, compared with the closing levels on Tuesday.
The top early riser in London was British energy supplier SSE, who shares jumped 3.5 per cent to 1,459 pence after the group announced a tie-up with German-owned Npower to serve about 11.5 million customers in Britain.
