Europe: Stock markets drop at open

[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets declined at the start of trading on Thursday, with London's FTSE 100 index down 0.2 per cent at 5,976.4 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index retreated almost 0.6 per cent to 9,826.3 points and the Paris CAC 40 dipped 0.4 per cent to 4,362.6 compared with the close on Wednesday.
