Europe: Stock markets steady at open
[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets steadied at the start of trading on Thursday after strong gains the previous session.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index dipped by just a few points to 7,414.37, compared with Wednesday's close.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 slipped 0.1 per cent to 12,614.13 points and the CAC 40 in Paris gained 0.1 per cent to 5,228.93.
Europe's main indices had Wednesday jumped by between 1.2 and 1.6 per cent after Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen pledged a "gradual" approach to US interest rate increases.
