Europe: Stocks advance at open

[LONDON] European stock markets rose at the start of trading on Tuesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index up 0.24 per cent at 6,985.27 points.
Elsewhere, the CAC 40 in Paris gained 0.56 per cent to 5,040.45 points and Frankfurt's DAX 30 won 0.99 per cent to 11,709.87 compared with Monday's close.
