Europe: Stocks ahead at open
[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets edged higher at the start of trading on Monday, in subdued deals amid a long holiday weekend in the United States.
In initial deals, London's benchmark FTSE 100 index added 0.1 per cent to 7,304.62 points compared with the close on Friday.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 gained almost 0.4 per cent to 12,495.07 points and the Paris CAC 40 advanced 0.3 per cent to 5,295.33.
US financial markets remain closed on Monday for the President's Day holiday.
