Europe: Stocks close down

[PARIS] Europe's main stock markets finished the day lower on Tuesday with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down 2.52 per cent to 6.702.84 points.
In Paris the CAC 40 fell 1.12 per cent to 4,881.95 points. Frankfurt's DAX 30 index slipped 0.71 per cent to 11,500.38 points after setting a new record high on Monday.
