Europe: Stocks edge up at open

[LONDON] The London and Paris stock markets nudged higher at the start of trading on Tuesday, while Frankfurt opened flat as dealers awaited the start of the Federal Reserve's policy meeting.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index advanced 0.1 per cent to 7,374.34 points compared with the close on Monday.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 was virtually unchanged at 11,987.34 points and the Paris CAC 40 grew 0.1 per cent to 5,006.05.
