Europe: Stocks fall at open

[LONDON] European stock markets dropped at the open Monday, with attention fixed on central bank policy before an ECB meeting this week and speculation on the outlook for US borrowing costs.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index slipped 0.3 per cent to 6,990 points compared with the close on Friday.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 lost 0.3 per cent to 10,544.69 points and the Paris CAC 40 shed 0.4 per cent to 4,452.72.
