Europe: Stocks lose ground at open
[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets retreated at the open on Tuesday, with sentiment dented by earlier Asian losses and low oil prices.
In initial trade, London's benchmark FTSE 100 index dipped 0.3 per cent to 6,675.76 points compared with the close on Monday.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 declined by nearly 0.2 per cent to 10,313.78 points and the Paris CAC 40 shed 0.3 per cent to 4,395.86.
Europe's main indices had mostly fallen Monday on poor post-Brexit manufacturing data, with Italy rocked also by stress tests which sparked fresh questions about the health of its troubled banks.
