[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets fell at the start of trading on Thursday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index losing 0.30 per cent to 6,809.57 points.

In Frankfurt the DAX 30 dropped 0.20 per cent to 11,242.87 points and the CAC 40 in Paris shed 0.16 per cent to 4,926.77 compared with the closing levels on Wednesday.

Indices had risen on Wednesday as investors fished for bargain shares despite fears over a possible Greek default and euro exit.
