[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets climbed at the start of trading on Tuesday, but at a much calmer pace compared with the previous session.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index gained 0.2 per cent to 6,697.43 points compared with Monday's close.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 won 0.2 per cent to 9,850.40 points and the Paris CAC 40 climbed also by 0.2 per cent in value to open at 4,272.45.

Indices had rallied Monday, with Frankfurt surging 2.1 per cent, mainly on the back of strong US jobs data according to traders.
