Europe: Stocks rise at open
[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets rose at the start of trading on Thursday after Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen lowered her expectations for US interest rate hikes this year.
In initial trade, London's benchmark FTSE 100 index won 0.6 per cent to 6,212.68 points compared with Wednesday's close.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index added 0.7 per cent to 10,051.69 points and the Paris CAC 40 gained almost 0.9 per cent to 4,501.68.
