Europe: Stocks rise at open, before US jobs report
[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets rose at the start of trading on Friday with attention fixed firmly on the upcoming US jobs data.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index climbed 0.4 per cent to 6,771.47 points, compared with the close on Thursday.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 gained 0.3 per cent to 10,570.70 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.5 per cent to 4,461.29.
Tokyo stocks ended flat with many investors sitting on their hands before the release Friday of monthly US jobs data that could make or break the case for a September interest rate hike from the Fed.
