Europe: Stocks steady at open

[LONDON] European stock markets were flat at the open on Friday following modest gains in Tokyo and on Wall Street.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 dipped just a few points to begin at 6,866.23 compared with Thursday's close.
In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 was virtually unchanged at 4,436.09 points and Frankfurt's DAX 30 gained 0.1 per cent to 10,613.23.
