Hong Kong opens flat after new Wall St high

    [ HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks were flat in the first few minutes of trade Friday despite a fresh Wall Street record, as regional markets declined ahead of key US economic data.

    The Hang Seng Index was down marginally 0.01 per cent, or 3.54 points, to 27,527.47.

    The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.11 per cent, or 3.61 points, to 3,269.32, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged down 0.05 per cent, or 0.98 points, to 1,868.23.
