Hong Kong, Shanghai edge down after Wall St record
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong and Shanghai shares slid in the first few minutes of trade Thursday, shrugging off a record close on Wall Street as traders took profits after a rally.
The Hang Seng Index was down 0.12 per cent, or 32.76 points, to 27,574.62.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.15 per cent, or 5.07 points, to 3,279.99, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gave up 0.18 per cent, or 3.31 points, to 1,866.01.
