Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks dip at open after Wall St losses
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks dipped in the first few minutes of trade Monday, tracking losses on Wall Street as investors bet on a steeper rise in US interest rates than previously expected.
The Hang Seng index fell 0.14 per cent, or 31.17 points, to 22,313.04.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.14 per cent, or 4.36 points, to 3,188.50, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged down 0.03 per cent, or 0.68 points, to 2,110.60.
