[HONG KONG] Hong Kong and Shanghai both ended higher Monday despite disappointing Chinese industrial output data, with equities boosted by easing tensions between North Korea and the US.

The Hang Seng Index finished up 1.36 per cent, or 366.72 points, at 27,250.23.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.90 per cent, or 28.82 points, to 3,237.36, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, jumped 2.02 per cent, or 37.17 points, to 1,879.77.
